Every season, Marie France Van Damme (MFVD) launches yet another collection pandering to the Luxury Lifestyle or resort-wear. MFVD is about a niche collection of day to night pieces for the woman who lives and travels the world in style.
Frankly, the black or white monochromatic theme was getting a bit monotonous for me.
“I created this collection for those who, like me, tend to dress in either black or white. I wanted to offer women an alternative, with pieces they can wear for years and that never go out of style. Ease and quiet elegance is an important theme; pieces can be mixed and matched effortlessly, with an infinite number of options to reflect your own personal style and attitude. With this line, there is no right or wrong way, only your way.” – Marie France van Damme
Whilst I understand the ethos of the black/white mix & match theme, I yearn for a splash of colour for counterpoint. Hence, the frisson of excitement when I received a Chinese New Year greeting in my incoming mail.
Now, that’s more like it! As a Hong Kong-based company touting the tropical South-East Asian lifestyle, they should know about the impact of red as a lucky Chinese colour….
It made me click onto the Marie France van Damme website to check out the new arrivals.
By the way, Chinese New Year 2018 starts on 16 February.
Reversible Rose Bomber Jacket $1,250
Racer Back Rose Lurex Sun Dress $1,250
Rose Embroidered Silk Dress $980
Embroidered Silk Chiffon Tunic $620
Metallic Round Neck Cami Dress $620
I know that my selection are mostly monochromatic again! At least, I know that some colourful highlights are available with careful perusing of the MFVD website.
I like the ease of wearing as distinguished by slim, column silhouettes and pullover style.
The reversible jacket allows numerous pairing possibilities.
The dresses and tunics flatter with high neckline, modern racer back and cut-in shoulders.
FTC Disclosure: Neither I nor AlphaLuxe received anything from Marie France Van Damme for this and previous reports.
